'These Stupid Games' Music Video

Stephanie and I worked on this music video for 'These Stupid Games' together for a few weeks and it's finally finished!  She released it on my Birthday back in June and I'm finally posting about it on my blog!
Watch it here :)

Stephanie had talked to the artist, Elizaveta, about doing a music video for her song, 'These Stupid Games.'  When Stephanie asked me if I would be in and sent me the song, it was an easy yes.  The song is beautiful, very emotional, and something I felt connected to.  We shot at locations all over LA, including a couple places in Santa Monica, the Last Bookstore in Downtown, the Self-Realization Fellowship at Lake Shrine, Malibu, Union Station, and up on the Mulholland Lookout, and even a late night pool session in March!
The Book Arch at the Last Bookstore in Downtown LA
Self-Realization Fellowship at Lake Shrine near Malibu...it was so beautiful!
It's a great song and the video turned out really well for her first time using video instead of all photos, plus we had a lot of fun shooting it!  I love working on new things and getting to do a little acting and it was awesome to check out some new places I had never been to :)

'Stealing A Man's Grill' Video Debut!

I'm excited to announce that 'Stealing A Man's Grill' music video has made it's debut!  Brad Coder, the artist, also wrote and directed the music video.  You might recognize him from his shark video that was rated the #2 video on MSN.com last year and has over 2 million views on YouTube.  You need to check it out!

We filmed the final scenes at the beginning of this month and after editing everything together, the video was released yesterday!  Lucky for me, I got to play two different roles in this video; I get to seal the grill and later I get to return it.  I'm playing good and evil, the best of both worlds because I'm definitely the type of girl you'd expect to steal a grill!
Our final days of filming were a lot of fun, as we got to enjoy the sun in Playa Del Rey and see Brad cry over his beloved grill's return.  We got in a nice little work-out running along the beach and got our groove on for the ending party scene.  Although, Brad was more excited about his grill than his bikini-clad heroines.
It was a blast to shoot this video and the song is super catchy...I think you'll enjoy it :)

'Plaid Flannel' Music Video

Neil's Dad turned 60 this past week and in honor of this very special Birthday he put together a music video that was dedicated to his Dad's love for plaid flannel.  He got friends and family of his Dad to send in 'video selfies' of themselves dancing and singing to add to the personalization of the video and this is the final product!
Not only did Neil rap and sing in this video but he was the creative mind behind the lyrics, scenes, and editing!  I had a fun little cameo as well, so if you want to see my old-school dance moves make sure you check it out :)

The Catch Up Game

It's November and that means Pumpkin Pie, Cranberry Sauce, Green Bean Casserole and other fun Thanksgiving treats are making their way to the front of the grocery store.  It also means Christmas commercials, holiday music, and Santa will all be here very soon.  Even though the change of seasons in LA isn't as noticeable as in Wisconsin, I can still tell that it's Fall because the air gets a little crisper, it gets darker sooner, and people are walking outside with hats and scarves on the 40ish degree nights.  I'm playing the catch up game and reflecting on my resolutions and goals for this year and I'm really happy with where I've been at the last year and past couple months!

In August, Neil and I played a live show at The Garage for a friend's Birthday Party and that was something completely new for me, singing a whole show with Neil, just us and his acoustic guitar.  Totally different than Karaoke but absolutely addicting.  We also saw an 80's Cover Band play at Canyon Club in Agoura Hills which I had never been to before and is known for it's performers and shows.  I heard Pat Benetar plays there, so the next time she's playing I hope I can go!  I saw 'Women Are Crazy, Because Men Are A**Holes' because I had friends who were in the show, and it certainly made me want to get more involved in theater after seeing such an awesome production!  And to top it all off, my brother's band, The Hussy, came out to LA while they were doing a West Coast Tour and performed at Redwood Bar!

Keeping an eye on my goals!
When September rolled around, I had already worked on a friend's music video (we just filmed some more footage this past week and have a couple final scenes before the video is completed) which will be coming out in December.  Neil and I took my first trip to Santa Barbara where we went Wine Tasting at a couple different Wineries and walked all around the city, eating Dinner at a quaint little Italian Restaurant in downtown.  Even though we missed the Sara Bareilles show we still had a blast!  At the end of the month, Neil and I saw Keith Urban perform at the Hollywood Bowl (my first show there) and he was incredible :D

By October I had decided to launch a new concept for my blog so I filmed a Fantasy Football Teaser and now currently feature a weekly blog about Fantasy Football Pick-ups, Projections, and Stats, along with my Weekly Match-Up.  I also did my first ever show for Afterbuzz TV, where we do a post-game wrap up of the show 'Supernatural.'  I filmed my 5th episode this week and love working for the company and getting to Host on a weekly basis!  Neil and I worked on a Halloween Music Video, where he rapped and I sang, (in the style of Eminem & Dido) and the music video came out just before Halloween.  We also saw 30 Seconds to Mars perform at the Hollywood Bowl as well (our second time seeing them together)!  I spent a lot of time with my girlfriends in the past month, grabbing Dinner, hitting up a party, and even seeing a Kings Game from the Luxury Box thanks to Marty.  In the midst of all the crazy I did a workshop at ACT Now for 2 weeks so that was a fun learning experience too and also uploaded my Commercial Reel to be viewed on YouTube!

Talk about a busy couple of months but I wouldn't want it any other way.  I'm paving my own path and when things start to get frustrating or I wonder what I'm doing, something makes me realize everything is happening for a reason and that's when the big things hit!  I can't wait to see what's next...

'The King Of Halloween' Music Video

Halloween is here and it's the perfect time to bring out the Halloween Music Video 'The King Of Halloween' that Neil and I had worked on the past few weeks!

Neil had told me he was going to record a Halloween Rap and make a video for it and then asked me to sing on it, in the style of Eminem and Dido.  He recorded his rap part and then we recorded my vocals in his studio and I was able to play around with my final part which was fun!  Then a couple weeks ago we recorded my scenes in a set that Neil created.  He put so much time and effort into making this video really special and totally Halloween.  His rap is smart and very quick; super impressive for a singer/songwriter :)  There's even a cameo by Diego who plays the piano solo for the song!  You can see the video right here!
The video was a blast to shoot and it came out awesome!  I can't imagine editing all those images and scenes into the video, matching up the vocals with the singing shots, and the video is seamless from beginning to end.
90's Hip Hop Artists ready for the shoot!
Hope you enjoyed and Happy Halloween!

That Gangsta Lean...

I got to see some more footage from 'Stealing A Man's Grill' music video last night and I can't wait to share this fun video very soon!  Since I posted a behind the scenes photo in my last blog I thought I'd post another picture from after filming; with a little more clothes than will be involved in the final cut of the video but total attitude and sass you can surely expect once you see the finished product!
With Brad Coder, Director and Singer of 'Stealing a Man's Grill' after my scene!
In addition to the music video news, last week's Karaoke night was a fun one with performances by a bunch of my friends trying out some Michael Jackson for the first time!  I've never sang any Michael so I went all out and did 'The Way You Make Me Feel' and it was a blast!  For some reason, it brought out a very fun and different side to me, made me want to dance, having everyone get into the music and it was well received :)  Since that was my new song of the night, before the craziness began I opened with 'All I Wanna Do' by Heart which was followed by Counting Crow's 'Mr. Jones' since I'm still updating the History folder.  Next up it was 'Invincible' by Pat Benatar and I closed out the night with some country doing 'That Don't Impress Me Much' by Shania Twain.  Those nights with a big crowd of friends trying out new music are the best!

Stealing a Man's Grill

It's Music Video time!  It's been years since I worked on a music video but when my friend, Brad, asked me to be in his music video and told me the concept, I couldn't resist!  I knew it would be a lot of fun and I was excited to work with my friends on this project!

Last week after I finished up a Bartending shift at The Garage I drove to Playa Del Rey to meet up with everyone and shoot our scenes.  I don't want to give too much away but basically Kevin and I steal Brad's grill and Brad searches all over to try to find it.  Hilarity shall ensue but Kevin and I's scene involved me jumping out of the truck, stealing the grill, and hopping into the truck bed as we speed off into the distance.  Needless to say, the next day I ended up with bruises all over my legs and I was super sore from getting tossed around but I wanted to go big and make it as real as possible, so I gave it my all!

One of my favorite things about our shoot was when Kevin and I were driving to our first marks and we were just doing some improv in the truck, talking about stealing the grill and our relationship.  When we finished for the day, we got to see all the scenes and our improv was actually super funny and totally in the moment.  Who knows where it will end up but I think we're both hoping to use it for our reels since it's ridiculous :)
Shooting 'Stealing a Man's Grill' Music Video
There's a few more scenes that need to be shot so it may be a couple weeks before the video comes out but I can't wait to share it with everyone!  For now, you'll just have to settle for our screen grab on a perfect sunny day!
